This website provides Citizens of the City of Oakland with information, in particular accounting information, not normally available to the public. The Reports section provides the basic financial statements for the voter approved local tax Measures (Measures M, N, Q and Y) and the Special Districts (Landscape and Lighting Assessment District and the Wildfire Prevention Assessment District) for the fiscal years ended June 30, 2008, 2007 and 2006.

In addition, the Reports section contains a proposed ballot measure that would supersede/repeal Measure OO, substituting an amended Measure K, the original Kids First! Oakland Fund for Children and Youth measure. Changes to the original Measure K are reflected in a separate document. In the propoposed ballot measure the various gotchas to the City of Oakland were removed, the original funding formula was retained, a revenue sweetener was added and a four year renewal provision was provided. Input would be appreciated.

The Archives section (see index) contains the Office of the City Auditor reports prepared from 1999 to the commencement of the term of the current City Auditor in 2007. The current City Auditor deleted these reports in December 2007 from the website of the Office of the City Auditor, following the release of the only report (prepared by an outside contractor) issued by the Office of the City Auditor in 2007.
